TECHNICAL CONSULTANT / SOLUTION ARCHITECT

UK IT Landscape Assessment & Transformation

Assignment period - ASAP to end of 2027

Industry knowledge - EIS business experience desirable

 

1. Role Profile

A Technical Consultant / Solution Architect is required at short notice to consult an ongoing UK project. The role provides the technical depth needed to investigate the existing enterprise IT landscape, applications and dependencies and to translate findings into actionable recommendations for the project.

The consultant is expected to work with a high degree of analytical autonomy, conducting technical assessments across applications, integrations and data flows, identifying complexity, risks and optimization opportunities, and providing robust technical input for solution evaluation, cost assessment and the transformation roadmap.

Core mission: Build a fact-based technical view of the current IT landscape and convert complex findings, risks and dependencies into actionable solution and transformation recommendations.

 

2. Objective of the Role

The objective is to create the technical transparency required to assess the current IT environment and consult informed transformation decisions. The role covers analysis of applications, technical dependencies, system integrations, interfaces and data flows, including identification of risks and optimization opportunities.

The consultant will turn assessment findings into structured technical analyses and solution evaluations and provide technical input for cost assessments and the transformation roadmap.

 

3. Key Responsibilities

IT Landscape & Application Assessment

• Analyze the existing IT landscape and relevant applications.
• Map and assess technical dependencies across the landscape.
• Conduct technical assessments and identify optimization opportunities.

Integration, Interfaces & Data Flows

• Evaluate system integrations and interfaces.
• Analyze relevant data flows and associated technical dependencies.
• Identify technical complexity, risks and dependencies that affect solution choices.

Solution Evaluation & Transformation Input

• Create structured technical analyses and solution evaluations.
• Translate technical findings into actionable recommendations.
• Provide technical input for cost assessments.
• Provide technical input for the transformation roadmap.

 

4. Expected Results / Deliverables

Result Description

- IT landscape assessment

- Structured assessment of the existing IT landscape, relevant applications and technical dependencies.

- Integration and data-flow assessment

- Documented evaluation of relevant system integrations, interfaces and data flows.

- Technical risk and optimization view

- Clear identification of technical complexity, risks, dependencies and optimization opportunities.

- Solution evaluation

- Structured technical analysis of relevant solution options and actionable recommendations.

- Transformation inputs

- Technical input suitable for cost assessments and the transformation roadmap.

 

5. Requirements Profile

Technical Architecture

Strong technical understanding of enterprise IT landscapes; ability to analyze technical complexity, risks and dependencies.

Architecture experience.

Application Modernization

Experience with application assessments and IT modernization.

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics.

Integration & Data

Experience with system integrations and data flows.

Experience with Databricks.

Problem Solving & Communication Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to translate complex technical findings into actionable recommendations.

EIS business experience.

 

6. Role Boundaries

• The role is a technical assessment and solution-architecture assignment, not a general PMO role.
• The role provides technical input for cost assessments and the transformation roadmap; commercial ownership and final transformation decisions are not specified as part of the role.
• No implementation ownership beyond the stated analysis, assessment and recommendation scope is specified.

 

Skills:

 

• Availability and earliest possible start date.
• Relevant experience in enterprise IT landscape and application assessments.
• Examples of comparable IT modernization, integration, interface and data-flow assessments.
• Evidence of solution-architecture experience where applicable.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Databricks, OT environments and/or EIS business where available.
